Early Saturday morning, three Germans of Russian descent were hospitalized following a fight with a group of Americans outside a local night club, according to police in Idar-Oberstein, Germany.

The fight reportedly started after an argument at a downtown disco, which caters to Idar-Oberstein’s substantial Russian population and also is known to attract soldiers from nearby Baumholder.

Following the fight, German police contacted the military police in Baumholder. German authorities, however, had little information to provide about the incident other than it allegedly involved soldiers, the MP office reported.

The local paper, Nahe-Zeitung, reported Monday that the three Germans came from the Saarland region and were found injured at the nearby train station. The victims, who were transported to the hospital in Idar-Oberstein, contend the dispute was with Americans.
