A pair of U.S. generals in or soon to be in Middle East commands have been nominated for new assignments, the Department of Defense said Wednesday.
U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Rhett A. Hernandez, commander of the Army Human Resources Command in Alexandria, Va., has been nominated to become chief of the U.S. Military Training Mission in Saudi Arabia. The mission falls under U.S. Central Command.
Also, Army Maj. Gen. Richard P. Zahner, deputy chief of staff for intelligence for Multi-National Force-Iraq, has been assigned to become director of the Signals Intelligence Directorate at the National Security Agency in Fort Meade, Md.
