The Army chief of staff has announced several general officer assignments.

Maj. Gen. James M. Milano, currently the commander of the Civilian Police Assistance Training Team, Multi-National Security Transition Command-Iraq, has been selected as commander of the U.S. Army Armor Center and Fort Knox. Concurrently, he will be commandant of the U.S. Army Armor School at Fort Knox, Ky.

Maj. Gen. David G. Perkins, deputy chief of staff for strategic effects, Multi-National Force-Iraq, has been selected as commander of the 4th Infantry Division (mechanized), Fort Hood, Texas.
