Gas prices at on-base pumps in Japan and Okinawa are 10 cents higher this month than last and up a few cents in South Korea and Guam, the Army and Air Force Exchange Service stated in a news release.
As of Wednesday, mid-grade unleaded fuel is $1.94 per gallon over November’s $1.84 in Japan and Okinawa. Diesel fuel there is $1.81, up from $1.71 in November.
In South Korea, gas is up three cents per gallon. Unleaded fuel is $2.05 per gallon, up from $2.02. Premium unleaded gas is $2.24 per gallon, up from $2.21 last month.
Diesel fuel in S. Korea is $2.22, up nine cents from November’s $2.13. At an off-post gas station in Seoul on Tuesday, regular unleaded was listed at $4.97 per gallon.
On Guam, unleaded fuel is $2.06, up two cents from $2.04. Premium unleaded is $2.26, up four cents from $2.22.
AAFES says it bases its prices on U.S. Department of Energy averages for the previous four-week period.
