WASHINGTON — Children and relatives of servicemembers can get free SAT and ACT test preparation kits again this year, thanks in part to the generosity of pro football players.

A group of National Football League and Canadian Football League players has teamed again with the testing products company eKnowledge to provide free SAT and ACT kits to any servicemembers who request them.

The group first offered the test preparation programs in fall 2005 and has donated more than $9.8 million in free testing products. Company officials said as of mid-December, more than 47,400 programs have been shipped worldwide.

Officials said any servicemember may request as many kits as they want. The free kits can be given to any member of a troop’s family;

For more information, or to order the test preparation kits, visit www.militaryhomefront.dod.mil and click on the “NFL players” link under “Special offers.” At the bottom of the next page, click on “Click here to see the verification form.” Those who have trouble with the form can call 951-256-4076.
