U.S. Air Forces in Europe and the Army and Air Force Exchange Service are combining this holiday season to present a series of free movies at base theaters in Europe.
The new service, called the Merry Movie Magic program, has been created to provide extra support for the command’s single and unaccompanied airmen over the holiday season, according to an AAFES release.
As part of USAFE’s Project CHEER — Creating Hope, Energy, Enthusiasm and Recreation — those attending the movies will also receive free popcorn and a soda.
The free screenings, which are open to airmen, their families and Air Force civilians, will be shown on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
Movies will be shown at RAF Alconbury, RAF Mildenhall and RAF Lakenheath in England; Kaiserslautern, Ramstein Air Base, Sembach Air Base, Rhein-Main Air Base and Spangdahlem Air Base in Germany; Aviano Air Base, Italy; and Incirlik Air Base, Turkey.
Servicemembers in the Kaiserslautern Military Community should pick up tickets at their local community center. All others can just show their Department of Defense ID at the box office.
Those interested in attending the free showings should call their local theater for the name of the film and show times.
