A former Air Force master sergeant was sentenced to 15 years in prison Monday for paying to watch a 4-year-old girl engage in sex acts over the Internet, according to a news release from the office of U.S. Attorney Sally Quillan Yates in Georgia.

Charles Caley, 49, was based at Aviano Air Base in Italy in 2006 when the incidents took place, according to the release. Caley struck up an online relationship with the girl’s mother in Georgia, and later paid her to watch her daughter and two other young girls who visited the home.

He has already been court-martialed by the Air Force and is serving a 13-month sentence for possession of child pornography, according to the release. Authorities traveled to Italy to talk to Caley in 2008, the release said, and he pleaded guilty in 2009.

Caley’s involvement was discovered while authorities investigated the mother in another case. She has already been sentenced and is in prison, according to the release.

Yates is the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Georgia, where Senior District Judge J. Owen Forrester issued the sentence.
