YONGSAN GARRISON, South Korea — Yongsan Fire Department personnel worked for about an hour to extinguish a blaze in a vacant housing unit on Thursday, according to Area II officials.

The firefighters responded to a fire in Quarters 7074 A & B on Yongsan South Post at about 11:05 a.m.

No injuries were reported, according to spokesman Steve Davis.

“We don’t like to have fires any time,” he said. “We’re just glad the house was vacant.”

The quarters were under renovation, according to the release.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
