WIESBADEN, Germany — U.S. Army Europe has extended the deadline for troops to participate in the 2011 Overseas Housing Allowance Utility/Recurring Maintenance Survey to April 15.

The survey is used by the Department of Defense to determine utility and recurring maintenance allowance for servicemembers, USAREUR said in a news release.

USAREUR spokesman Bruce Anderson said the original March 31 deadline was extended because there were some initial difficulties getting troops the link to the survey. Anderson said there is now a link on the USAREUR website: Troops should go to www.eur.army.mil, click on the “For USAREUR Community” button at the top of the website and then look under “Most requested links.” A direct link to the survey is also available at: www.defensetravel.dod.mil/ss/wsb.dll/s/eg4a.

All servicemembers who have lived in a private lease dwelling under the OHA program in Germany for at least the past six months are eligible to take the online survey. Anderson said participation is currently between 10 percent and 15 percent.
