One of America’s most iconic television shows, it’s known for punny clues and its silver-haired host.

If you answered “What is ‘Jeopardy!’?” it might be time to put your trivia skills to the ultimate test.

Alex Trebek will be holding a series of preliminary contestant searches in Italy and Germany starting Saturday in Naples, and continuing at three other Europe locations. Would-be contestants must be 18 years old to participate.

Only servicemembers and their spouses can audition for the longstanding quiz show, in which contestants compete for cash prizes. Those who pass the preliminary test could be chosen to participate in the show’s 2013 “Salute to the Military” competition, a week of shows with troops and family members only. The winner of the “Jeopardy!” military tournament will go on to compete against civilian contestants.

Active duty servicemembers can also apply to compete in the military competition by taking an online test Tuesday night at Jeopardy.com.

Trebek is expected to sign autographs and greet fans during his four stops in Germany and Italy. He is entering his 29th season as the show’s host and this is his 13th USO tour.

The pre-testing kicks off Saturday in Naples at the Support Site Elementary School from 9 to 11 a.m. Trebek will then stop at the Aviano Air Base in northern Italy on Tuesday, said Michael Lewis, operations director for USO Europe.

In Germany, Trebek will host tryouts at the Officers’ Club at Ramstein Air Base on Oct. 11, and the Clay Kaserne Community Activity Center in Wiesbaden Oct. 12 from 9 to 11 a.m.
