MISAWA AIR BASE, Japan – More than 300 base volunteers are gearing up for Saturday’s 21st annual Japan Day at Robert D. Edgren High School.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and includes cultural activities, Japanese food, crafts and displays from about 600 Japanese participants, including 40 to 50 exhibitors, according to organizers.

“It makes it very convenient for people to get involved in Japanese culture,” said Capt. Cordy Herring, who helped coordinate base participation in Japan Day with Capt. Jennifer Bradley.

Dancing and music presentations will take place throughout the day in the new gym and the music room.
