More than 80 GIs from 1st AD re-enlist in Kuwait

Soldiers from the 1st Armored Division have arrived in Kuwait, and one of the first orders of business for a few of them was re-enlisting.

More than 80 soldiers of the 2nd Brigade Combat Team re-enlisted on Nov. 23 in a ceremony presided over by the division commander, Maj. Gen. Doug Robinson.

The soldiers are at Camp Buehring, Kuwait.

The mass re-enlistment reflected, in part, one of the big financial benefits of being deployed: Bonuses awarded in combat zones are tax-free.

Two brigades of the 1st Armored Division have just begun their second rotation for the Iraq war.
