For the third year in a row, Department of Defense Dependents Schools-Europe is hosting a Summer Enrichment Program. This year’s program is scheduled to start July 5.

The four-week, half-day program is available for students who were in kindergarten through eighth grade in the 2005-06 school year. The program is designed to be a meaningful, educational and enjoyable experience for participating students, DODDS said in a recent release.

It’s not a remedial program, but one that focuses on enrichment in the math and language arts, the release says.

Parents who register their children should bring them to their community school starting July 5. The program runs from 9 a.m. to noon, and parents must arrange transportation. The program is scheduled to end Aug. 1.

Classes will be held in 29 schools across Europe and are expected to involve 120 teachers and approximately 2,900 students. Parents with questions should contact the enrichment program’s teacher-in-charge at each school, or their child’s classroom teacher.
