Students attending Department of Defense Dependents Schools in the Pacific are required to register for the 2009-2010 school year to allow the district to maintain current student information and project student enrollment.
On Okinawa, school and bus registration will run April 7-10. Parents can register their children from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Lester Middle School or Kadena Middle School. Parents can also opt to register at their home school office after spring break.
Parents with children who attend schools on Kadena Air Base should register at Kadena Middle School. Those attending other DODDS-Okinawa schools should register at Lester Middle School.
The Okinawa Student Transportation Office will have a registration station at each location. To register for a bus pass, parents must first register their children for school to obtain a copy of the student registration form. Students must also be present to be photographed for the new pass.
Children who will be age 5 by Sept. 1 are eligible for kindergarten, and children who will be age 4 by Sept. 1 are eligible for Sure Start. Parents can register for either program at the registration location within their school zone.
What you’ll need to register students in DODDS-Pacific districts:
