KADENA AIR BASE, Okinawa — A Kadena airman was given a bad conduct discharge and 90 days confinement Wednesday after a court-martial panel found him guilty of two counts of disobeying lawful orders.

Tech. Sgt. Jesse I. Ranney, assigned to Detachment 11, Air Force News Agency, was found guilty of disobeying an order by Kadena Air Base’s traffic review officer and an order by his supervisor to “cease an unprofessional relationship” with another servicemember, according to 18th Wing Public Affairs.

The guilty verdict was handed down following a three-day court-martial before a panel of four officers and three noncommissioned officers. Besides the discharge and confinement, they also busted Ranney from E-6 to E-3 and ordered forfeiture of $400 a month for three months.

The sentence will be reviewed by Brig. Gen. Jan-Marc Jouas, commander of the 18th Wing.
