The price of diesel fuel coupons in Italy will be dipping for April, while prices for unleaded gasoline will remain the same as the March price, a Navy official said.

The coupon booklet price for 100 liters of diesel decreases from $91 to $86, said Bart Di Muccio, administrator of the Tax-Free Office in Naples, which runs the gas coupon program in Italy.

Unleaded coupon prices stay at $76 for 100 liters.

The prices translate to $3.25 a gallon for diesel and $2.87 for unleaded. The price change for diesel takes effect Wednesday.

Coupon prices in Italy are set once a month by the Tax-Free Office and determined by the barrel cost of fuel, the dollar-to-euro exchange rate, and any financial gains or losses from the previous month. Coupons are sold at Italy-based Navy Exchange and Army and Air Force Exchange Service outlets. Americans and NATO personnel don’t have access to on-base stations, and redeem the coupons for fuel at participating Esso or Agip stations.
