Suspects break into construction site, steal toolsWEST ROW — An array of tools has been stolen from a West Row construction site.

The break-in on Cricks Road occurred between the night of July 17 and the morning of July 18, according to a Suffolk Constabulary news release.

Suspects broke into a building site and then forced their way into a house within the site, the release states. Stolen were a Milwaukee jigsaw, a Hilti power drill, a Bosch jigsaw, a Hitachi circular saw and a concrete breaker.

Arson destroys Ford Fiesta in Mildenhall parking lotMILDENHALL — A red Ford Fiesta was set on fire and destroyed in a Mildenhall parking lot.

The arson took place on St. Johns Close around 2 a.m. on July 22, according to the Suffolk Constabulary.

Those with information are asked to call Police Constable Christian Thomas of the Mildenhall police at 01284 774100.

Teenagers assault man with Silly String, stonesBURY ST. EDMUNDS — A man was assaulted by a group of teenagers July 24 in Bury St. Edmunds.

The man, 18, was walking toward a car park about 4:30 p.m. when four youths swore at him and sprayed Silly String at him, according to a Suffolk Constabulary news release. They then threw stones at him.

When he arrived at a nearby roundabout on his bike, the teens came in front of him and one punched him on the shoulder. The teens later threw stones at him again, but he was unhurt, the release stated.

The suspects are described as white males, around 5 feet 6 inches tall with short brown or blond hair. The one who punched the victim was bare-chested at the time.

Police want to speak to the driver of a red Land Rover that was almost hit by one of the stones, as well as two teen girls who spoke with the victim.

Man charged with assault after elderly couple attackedBURY ST. EDMUNDS — A man has been charged with two counts of assault causing bodily harm after he allegedly assaulted an elderly couple walking their dog.

The incident happened June 29 near the Gainsborough playing field in Bury St. Edmunds, according to the Suffolk Constabulary.

The suspect, Paul Daly of Highbury Road, appeared before the Bury magistrates court on July 26 to be charged.
