Crime Scene:Man wanted in robbery of woman in parking lot
BURY ST. EDMUNDS — An unknown assailant snatched cash from the hand of a woman who was walking near a parking lot on Tavfen Road on Jan. 17, according to a Suffolk Constabulary news release.
The suspect is described as a white male around 5 feet 6 inches tall and wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt.
Bury St. Edmunds police are seeking information or witnesses to the robbery. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 01284 774100.
Hood ornaments stolen from cars in LakenheathLAKENHEATH — Police are looking for information in a spate of thefts of hood ornaments and logos from cars parked on both streets and in driveways in Lakenheath, said Suffolk Constabulary spokeswoman Lisa Crane.
According to Crane, eight ornaments have been pried off various makes of vehicles in recent weeks, causing damage to at least one of them.

Elderly residents taken in utility worker scamCAMBRIDGESHIRE — Police are looking for information on two burglaries perpetrated on elderly residents in the Cambridge/Huntingdon area.
The first incident occurred on Coronation Avenue in Huntingdon when two men posing as water utility workers went to the door of a woman in her 70s and asked to enter the house, according to a Cambridge news release. One of the men then went upstairs and stole cash.
The two men were described as white, one in his mid-20s with an Irish accent and wearing a blue jacket and baseball hat.
In the second burglary, another woman in her 70s living with her older brother reported that men claiming to be from the water board went to the house, while someone else apparently sneaked inside and stole several items while the occupants were distracted, according to police.
The men, at least three of them, were all described as 18 to 20 years old, all wearing dark clothes and baseball hats.

Man seen in area during assault, robbery soughtBURY ST. EDMUNDS — Police are seeking a man who was seen walking a dog on Beetons Way at around 4:30 a.m. on Jan. 12, when a woman was accosted and robbed in her own driveway, according to a Suffolk Constabulary news release.
According to the report, the woman was confronted by a man when she approached her car. She managed to push him away, lock herself in the car and begin revving the engine and blowing the car horn, but had dropped her handbag outside the car. The man tried to speak to the woman, but eventually left with the bag and was seen walking toward the Greengage pub in Bury St. Edmunds.
Police would like to speak to the man seen with the dog about the same time, and calls about the case can be made to 01284 774100.
