ST. NEOTS — Police are searching for the driver of a Ford Ka that struck a 12-year-old boy cyclist and then fled the scene.

The incident occurred June 27, about 8 a.m. on Mille Lance in Little Paxton near St. Neots while the victim was riding his bike to school, according to a Cambridgeshire Constabulary news release.

The boy suffered minor injuries in the accident and was able to contact his mother from a nearby home, the constabulary said.

Police call for public’s help in finding stolen chemicalsRAMSEY — Cambridgeshire authorities are asking the public to be on the lookout for a large quantity of dangerous cleaning fluid recently stolen.

Nineteen 50-kilogram containers of Cee Bee J88 cleaning fluid went missing from a private company’s property on July 2, according to a Cambridgeshire Constabulary news release. The chemical can cause respiratory and skin problems on contact.

Police are urging anyone who has any information about the whereabouts of the containers to contact them immediately. Members of the public should not attempt to move or touch any containers they suspect could contain the stolen fluid.

Two armed men demand cash from convenience store clerkCHATTERIS — Authorities in Cambridgeshire are investigating the armed robbery of a convenience store on High Street.

The incident occurred July 1 about 1:30 p.m. when two men entered the Discount Store and demanded that the teller open the store’s safe, according to a Cambridgeshire Constabulary news release.

The men are both described as white and about 6-foot tall, wearing black hooded tops and white trainers. One was wearing blue jeans and the other wore black slacks.
