The Department of Defense officially announced Friday the death of six soldiers previously listed as duty status whereabouts unknown following the crash of their CH-47 Chinook helicopter in Afghanistan on April 6.

A total of 18 people were killed in the crash near Ghazni. The others had previously been declared dead by the Pentagon.
