A high school soccer story in Monday’s editions incorrectly placed the location of the amphibious command ship USS Blue Ridge. Navy officials told Stars and Stripes that the Blue Ridge is deployed but not to the Persian Gulf. They said policy prevents location disclosure of any deployed ship.

A March 21 story about the Air Force implementing a stop-loss initiative to retain airmen with critical skills should have stated the program does affect deployed troops. Their positions were frozen “in place” to meet mission requirements. Reservists are not being called to active duty under stop-loss. Air Force Personnel Center officials said reservists in certain career fields supporting a specific mission may be subject to stop-loss action.
