• The headline on Friday’s story about the Kosovo campaign medal was incorrect. The Department of Defense has denied a waiver request that would have allowed more than 22,000 troops to wear the medal. Also, the name of European Command spokesman Cmdr. Jeff Breslau was misspelled.

• A story in Thursday’s editions about the Interceptor body armor contained erroneous information. Flak jackets being worn by some servicemembers in Iraq are from the 1980s, not the Vietnam era. Also, the Interceptors are designed to stop rounds as large as 7.62 mm — the caliber typically fired from the AK-47s common in Iraq.
