College funds available for Navy’s senior enlisted
Attention senior enlisted sailors: You have until Feb. 23 to apply for a Navy program that pays for you to get a bachelor’s or master’s degree, according to NAVADMIN (Navy Administrative Message) 329/06.
The program is available to chiefs with no more than 17 years of service; senior chiefs with no more than 20 years of service; and master chiefs with no more than 22 years of experience, according to the NAVADMIN.
Eligible chiefs can receive up to $20,000 over three years for a bachelor’s program or up to $40,000 over two years for a master’s program, the NAVADMIN says.
The Navy’s initial target is 25 chiefs, but it hopes to award “as many as the funding will allow,” said Ed Barker, a spokesman for Naval Education and Training Command.
