A headline and story in the Jan. 26 edition should have said U.S. forces are holding 600 Iraqi detainees. The military says these are individuals deemed as an “imperative threat to security,” including those who aided the insurgency as lookouts, by placing bombs or engaging in combat; “prisoners” are individuals who have been tried, convicted and sentenced to prison by an Iraqi court of law.
