A civilian worker for the Criminal Investigation Command office in Mannheim, Germany, was found dead Saturday at his home in Schwetzingen.

Lawrence Harris, 48, was found dead by German emergency crews Saturday night. CID did not release the cause of Harris’ death, but a press release sent out Wednesday said foul play has been ruled out.

Harris was employed with the 202nd Military Police Group (CID) in Mannheim and had spent 15 years working as an Army civilian. Before that, he served 12 years in the Army.

Harris is survived by his wife, Petra, and children Nadine and Daniel, of Stuttgart; and his father, Charles Harris, of Norfolk, Va.

A memorial service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday at the Patrick Henry Village chapel.
