Chinhae wins service award for real estate
PYEONGTAEK, South Korea — The family housing office at Chinhae Naval Base has won the Real Estate Award for Customer Service Excellence for the third year in a row.
The awards are given annually in various categories by CEL & Associates Inc. and recognize real estate organizations and public and private property management services.
The base, on the peninsula’s southeastern coast, is the only U.S. Navy installation in South Korea and home to Commander, Fleet Activities Chinhae. CFAC’s main function is to provide logistical and other support to U.S. naval vessels. Chinhae also won the award in 2004 and 2003.
The 2005 award recognized, in part, Chinhae’s sponsor program for newly arrived sailors and families, said Navy Lt. j.g. Jessica Gandy, a Naval Forces Korea spokeswoman in Seoul.
“They really do have fantastic facilities. … So to win something like a customer excellence award, it’s just a great example of how CFAC conducts business professionally and how well they take care of their people,” Gandy said.
