KAISERSLAUTERN, Germany – This year’s Combined Federal Campaign-Overseas program starts next month for military members and federal employees, U.S. Army Europe officials announced this week.
From Oct. 3 through Dec. 2, donors will have the opportunity to choose from more than 2,400 charities.
Contributors can also donate to family support and youth programs. Overseas, those donations go directly to programs on the installation where the contributor lives and works, a USAREUR news release said.
More than $91,000 was designated for those programs in Europe last year. In total, soldiers and civilian employees in Europe contributed about $2.2 million to the campaign, according to the release.
CFC is the only authorized solicitation of federal employees in their workplaces on behalf of approved charitable organizations, according to the CFC-Overseas website.Donors can use the traditional paper pledge card or an automated option, called e-Giving. Payment options include payroll deduction, credit or debit cards and electronic checks.
Those eligible to participate in this year’s campaign include all U.S. government personnel serving overseas, military or civilian. DOD contractors and foreign nationals employed by the U.S. government may also give.
