Central Criminal Court of Iraq convicts four Iraqis
The Central Criminal Court of Iraq — where U.S. troops often testify against the suspected insurgents they capture — convicted another four people during the final week of November, officials said Monday.
In one case, the court convicted an Iraqi man of illegal possession of special category weapons. American troops arrested the man after watching him transport weapons across the Tigris River and following him to the roof of a building.
He was given a 10-year sentence.
Another man was convicted of two AK-47s and 50 blasting caps in his car. He was sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment.
