Clear some cupboard space: The Defense Commissary Agency’s biannual case-lot sale is coming to most stores in Europe this weekend.

More than 89,000 cases of products have been shipped to Europe as part of the sale, according to Gerri Young, a spokeswoman for DeCA-Europe. She said up to 93 different products will be offered in bulk discount, depending on store size.

The items have been specifically ordered from companies that supply products to DeCA, Young said. Since items are sold in bulk, companies often offer special prices — as much as 64 percent off what DeCA normally charges.

“We give them dates and say: ‘Come back with your best deals,’” Young said. “Then we select the products we think our customers would want most.”

Toilet paper and paper towels are the most popular items.

Stores will maintain normal hours, but some might choose to offer other promotions. Some stores will hold their sales on Saturday and Sunday, while others will take advantage of the Memorial Day holiday and hold sales Sunday and Monday. A few more, including Naples and Aviano, are holding case-lot sales the first weekend of June.

Sales vary depending on individual stores. In Vogelweh, Germany, customers pre-order items and then drive through a tent where they’re loaded in.
