Cardboard and duct tape boats compete in Battle of the Battleships at Ramstein

RAMSTEIN AIR BASE, Germany — Participants representing the Air Force, Army and Navy competed Friday in the annual Battle of the Battleships — all made of cardboard and duct tape — at the Ramstein Aquatic Center.
This year, 30 boats were in competition to be the fastest in the Kaiserslautern Military Community. Awards were given for the fastest times, first boat to sink, the ugliest boat and the spirit award.
The winners for the fastest times this year were Sequestration’s Sinking Ship with U.S. Air Forces in Europe Financial Management Office taking first place, and The Ark with the chapel taking second.
The Aesthetically Challenged Award went to the SS POS from the 86th Logistics Readiness Squadron.
The award Davy Jones’ Locker, or first to sink, went to ROFLCOPTER from the 503rd Signal Battalion.
And the Spirit Award went to Company C, 53rd Signal Battalion.
