The Fisher Foundation accepted a $20,000 check recently from the Canada-based Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry Association in a ceremony at Fisher House on Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, according to a hospital news release.

Canadians of all branches of service who are currently serving in the Middle East donated the money. The final sum was collected in less than four weeks, the release stated.

The donation and a pair of painting prints by Canadian artist Silvia Pecota were described as small tokens of the appreciation by Canada’s current troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The Landstuhl Fisher House provides lodging for family members and loved ones of wounded or ill servicemembers being treated at the hospital.
