CAMP FOSTER, Okinawa — The Okinawa Medical Service Corps Association and Okinawa Navy Mustang Association are sponsoring the 5th Annual 5K Run to Remember 9/11 on Saturday, according to a U.S. Naval Hospital release.
The race will start at the Camp Foster Community Center at 6:30 a.m. and also finishes at the center.
Those interested can pre-register at the Camp Lester Gym or at the community center on race day. Those registering at the race need to come a little early in order to complete the registration before the start, said Brian Davis, a hospital spokesman.
The registration fee is $10. T-shirts are available for $5 more at registration, but only for the first 150 to apply.
Ten percent of the race proceeds are donated to the Pentagon Memorial Fund. The remaining proceeds go to two book scholarships for Okinawa sailors and Marines attending college here, said Lt. Scott Weidner, one of the race coordinators.
