CAMP FOSTER, Okinawa — The 2006 Foster Fest is scheduled for 3 to 10 p.m. Oct. 14 and 1 to 10 p.m. Oct. 15 at the Camp Foster Parade Deck.

Admission is free to the annual event, which is open to everyone islandwide. The festival will offer live bands, game booths, amusement rides, Kiddie Land for children and cultural foods. Pets, bottles, coolers and alcohol from outside the grounds are not allowed.

At the festival’s start on Oct. 14, a Nissan Terrano will be given away to one of a few status-of-forces-agreement personnel selected by AFN to participate in a contest. Other festival giveaways will include two pairs of round-trip tickets to one of three U.S. destinations, courtesy of United Airlines.

The Foster Fest Softball Tournament will be held Oct. 13-15 at the Gunners Fitness Center softball fields. Participants must register no later than 4 p.m. Friday at any MCCS athletic facility. Registration costs $95 per team. A mandatory coaches’ meeting will be at 6 p.m. Oct. 10 at the fitness center’s sports office.
