The 31st Munitions Squadron at Camp Darby, Italy, has been honored with an Air Force-level maintenance award.

The squadron won for missile/munitions maintenance in the service’s annual maintenance effectiveness awards.

Lt. Col. Tammy Cobb’s squadron contains about 150 airmen, who are responsible for the storage of Air Force munitions transiting between the United States, Europe and destinations in Southwest Asia.

The 718th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron at Kadena Air Base on Okinawa was the service’s other overseas winner. The 718th took top honors in the medium aircraft maintenance category (units having from 301 to 999 personnel).
