Briefs: Welcome to Seoul American High
Classes for freshmen and new students at Seoul American High School begin Aug. 27 at 7:55 a.m., with a welcome assembly in the school auditorium and a distribution of schedules.
The school year for all other SAHS students begins Aug. 28.
Students will pick up their schedules before school and report to their B1 first period class. Classes dismiss at 2:45 p.m., and buses will operate regular hours on both days.
Information and program offerings at SAHS will be provided to parents on Tuesday from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The high school will hold an open house for parents, teachers and students on Sept. 6 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Yongsan power outage plannedYONGSAN GARRISON, South Korea — There will be a scheduled power outage at Yongsan Garrison’s South Post on Sept. 29 and Sept. 30, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days. The Main Post will experience a power outage on Oct. 13 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The outages are required for infrastructure maintenance, and will be rescheduled for Oct. 20 and Oct. 21 in case of inclement weather.
Applicants sought for Red CrossThe American Red Cross is looking for applicants for emergency communications and casework services positions.
Applicants must be American citizens, at least 18 years old, high school graduates, have base access and basic computer skills. For more information, call 738-3670.
USO seeking volunteersThe Virtues English program needs active-duty servicemembers to volunteer on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month. The first class will be held Oct. 13.
