Briefs: Tops in Blue seeking some new talent
YOKOTA AIR BASE, Japan — The U.S. Air Force Tops in Blue is seeking talented vocalist, musicians, dancers, comedians and other active-duty Air Force performers to audition for their Worldwide Talent Competition to be held at Lackland Air Force Base Dec. 2-10, 2007.
Audition packages are due by Oct. 26, 2007, and must include an audition videotape or DVD of the applicant performing, a Tops in Blue Entertainer Application and a Letter of Commitment.

Yokota Services to hold photography contestYOKOTA AIR BASE, Japan — Throughout the month of September, Yokota Services will be holding a photography contest open to all active-duty military, U.S. civilians, Japanese nationals, retirees and family members assigned to Yokota Air Base. The contest is divided into two age categories: ages 15 and younger; and 16 and older.
Mounted black-and-white or color prints will be accepted in the categories of scenic, nature, people and abstract or conceptual photography.
Entries will be displayed at the Arts & Crafts Center during October, with the winner being announced Oct. 12, 2007.

Tuition requests for Marines due Sept. 15Sept. 15 is the deadline for Marines to submit college tuition assistance requests for fiscal year 2007, according to a Marine release Wednesday.
Assistance cannot be issued to Marines after the date because 2007 dollars cannot be used for classes in fiscal year 2008, which begins Oct. 1, according to the release.
Tuition assistance for the coming fiscal year will be issued beginning Oct. 2.
