CAMP ZAMA, Japan — The Zama Teen News Club is looking for an adult volunteer to help students as they learn to film, edit and produce their own news program.
The club meets every Tuesday from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. at the Community Cultural Center. The minimum duties for the volunteer would be to provide an adult presence while the students work, though helping students with their writing, speaking skills and other tasks would also be appreciated.
ZTN is aired daily on the Camp Zama Morale, Welfare and Recreation channel every other hour on the half hour. The program is open to students in grades six through 12. For more information about the program or to volunteer, contact Mr. Lawrence at DSN 263-8573.

Andersen’s $24 million runway up and rollingAfter nearly two years of construction aimed at improving mission capability and safety, an improved runway reopened June 18 at Andersen Air Force Base on Guam, according to a 36th Wing Public Affairs press release.
Brig. Gen. Doug Owens, 36th Wing commander, flew the first F-16 sortie over the waiting crowd as a ribbon was cut, marking the opening of Andersen’s north runway.
The renovated runway is one of two 12,000-foot parallel runways that adds significant capability to the 36th Wing’s mission, the release said.
The $24 million runway replacement project began in 2005 when it became evident that the older runway would not be able to sustain the continuous airfield operations.
