Andersen Air Force Base, along with its Guam neighbors, will celebrate Guam Air Force Week from Tuesday to Saturday in recognition of the 60th anniversary of the U.S. Air Force, according to an Andersen Air Force Base press release.

On Tuesday, the 36th Wing commander, Brig. Gen. Doug Owens, will join Lt. Gov. Mike Cruz in Adelup for the signing of the governor’s proclamation of Air Force Week, the release said.

Other events scheduled are presentations at local Guam high schools about the history of the Air Force, performances by the U.S. Air Force Band of the Pacific’s “Alaskan Express,” a golf tournament and barbecue at Admiral Nimitz golf course, and an Air Force Demonstration at Ypao Beach, Tumon.
