Bresell named acting deputy director for DODEA
Nancy Bresell has been selected to serve temporarily as the Department of Defense Education Activity’s principal deputy director and associate director for education based in Arlington, Va.
Bresell, who has experience as a high-ranking DODEA official in both Europe and the Pacific, was appointed to the 90-day assignment by DODEA Director Marilee Fitzgerald, and was scheduled to report for work Thursday, according to a DODEA news release.
Bresell is the current area director for Department of Defense Dependents Schools in Europe, and previously served as director of DODDS-Pacific schools.
In her new position, Bresell will be responsible for the educational programs for DODEA’s 194 schools around the world. DODEA will begin recruitment for a permanent deputy director in the near future, the release said.
Dell McMullen, Kaiserslautern district superintendent, has been named acting senior leader for DODDS-Europe during Bresell’s three-month absence.
