From World War II through the first Gulf War, Bob Hope was a regular visitor to the troops. Europe, Korea, Vietnam, the Persian Gulf ... Hope was there, joined by actors, singers, athletes, and usually a beauty-contest winner or two.

On May 29th, Bob Hope will celebrate his 100th birthday. To mark the occasion, we are compiling a collection of Stars and Stripes staff photos from Hope's travels to visit the troops. But while a picture is worth a thousand words (on a cue card, of course — Bob wouldn't have it any other way), we'd like to add the thoughts of the people who were there.

We invite you to send us your recollections of Bob Hope's visits ... your brushes with the celebrities, where you were, what it meant to have the entertainers join you far from home.
