Bishop tapped to lead USAFE’s 3rd Air Force

Air Force Lt. Gen. Robert D. Bishop Jr. has been nominated for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general with assignment as commander, 3rd Air Force, U.S. Air Forces in Europe, Ramstein Air Base, Germany.

Bishop is currently serving as vice commander of U.S. Air Forces in Europe, Ramstein Air Base, Germany.

The nomination, made by President Bush, was announced Friday by Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld.
