’Tis the season. For what, you ask? Holiday bazaars.
In fact, the massive sale involving 63 vendors at RAF Molesworth this weekend is a good chance to get a jump-start on your holiday shopping, too.
Antique and rug dealers, along with arts, crafts and homemade soap vendors will be on hand at the base, bringing European products right to American hands, according to Sandra Buxton, one of the bazaar’s organizers.
This is actually the second bazaar this year for the Molesworth community, she said. There wasn’t one last year, so folks got to shop at an equivalent in April.
The event is sponsored by the Tri-Base Enlisted Spouses Club, which comprises RAF’s Molesworth, Upwood and Alconbury.
In addition to all the products and deals, the money raised goes to a good cause, Buxton said.
Scholarships will be awarded to graduating seniors and continuing education scholars, she said. Grants from the bazaar’s proceeds also are given to the local schools, and funds are even made for holiday parties from the sales.
In addition to all the good stuff to buy, there’ll also be good stuff to eat, to the tune of burgers, hot dogs, ribs and cotton candy, Buxton said.
The event raised $12,000 last year, she said.
“It’s a good way to find holiday presents,” she said. “And it’s a good day out.”
The RAF Molesworth Bazaar is open to all military ID cardholders.
