AVIANO AIR BASE, Italy — An airman assigned to the 31st Security Forces Squadron was found guilty of wrongfully possessing a firearm in a special court-martial that ended Thursday.

Airman 1st Class Ronnie Diaz Jr. pleaded not guilty to pointing a loaded weapon at a fellow airmen and was found not guilty. But he was found guilty of one specification of a violation of Article 92 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice for holding a weapon for which he didn’t have approval.

He was sentenced to a reduction in rank to E-2, 30 days confinement and hard labor without confinement for 20 days.
