SEOUL — Local members of the Association of the United States Army raised more than $9,000 during a monthlong donation drive, according to AUSA officials.

The money, raised through the sales of raffle tickets, will be used to purchase memberships for “outstanding soldiers, volunteers, civilians … (and) to support soldier and community activities,” according to an e-mail from the organization.

At the Korea Chapter Executive Board meeting on Aug. 8, raffle tickets were drawn for prizes. Winners included:

Maj. Warner Ward, who won a United Airlines round-trip ticket to the United States and $300.Pvt. Michael Dodson, who won a Northwest Airlines round-trip ticket to the States and $300.Spc. Joseph Sinclair, who won $500 donated by the Morning Calm Chapter of the Adjutant General’s Corps Regimental Association.Twenty people won a one-year AUSA membership.The Korea AUSA has donated more than $60,000 to unit activities, charitable organizations, the Good Neighbor Program and several community members since Jan. 1, according to organization officials.
