An airman at Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, died Sunday around 5 p.m. as the result of an off-base motorcycle accident that also took the life of a civilian pedestrian.

Staff Sgt. Matthew Gahagan, who was assigned to Andersen’s 36th Munitions Squadron, was killed in the accident, according to an Andersen news release.

Vice wing commander Col. Stephen Wolborsky “expressed his deepest sympathy for the family of the pedestrian who was killed,” the release stated.
