RAF MILDENHALL, England — An airman was found guilty on one of three charges Friday in connection to accusations that he wrote on a subordinate airman’s breast and arm while she was unconscious.

Henry R. Steward II, who was demoted to the rank of staff sergeant, was convicted of assault, although the original charge was indecent assault, according to Airman Genniviv Herald, of the base’s legal office.

Steward, of Mildenhall’s 100th Security Forces Squadron, was found not guilty of two other Uniform Code of Military Justice violations that included cruelty and maltreatment, and adultery.

In addition to being reduced in rank, he was sentenced to 14 days’ hard labor without confinement, which he will serve within his unit, Herald said.

The charges stemmed from an incident that took place during a party on or about June 29 in the nearby village of Mildenhall.
