RAF MILDENHALL, England — A U.S. airman based here was to stand trial Friday for stealing nearly $2,000 in electronics from an Army and Air Force Exchange Service store.

Airman 1st Class Thomas J. Crenshaw of Mildenhall’s 100th Civil Engineering Squadron is accused of stealing the goods from the base exchange at RAF Lakenheath.

In April, Crenshaw allegedly stole a pair of Nike Air Jordan sneakers, a 26-inch flat-panel TV, two Xbox 360 game consoles, a video graphics card and a pair of USB cables, totaling about $1,800 in value, according to Mildenhall officials.

Crenshaw also faces a charge of lying to investigators.

Crenshaw is the only person charged in the thefts, according to officials with Mildenhall’s legal office.
