SALT LAKE CITY — Many residents in northern Utah are hearing jets from the Hill Air Force Base at night.

KUTV reported on Thursday that 4th Fighter Squadron Capt. Tyler McBride says residents can expect to hear night-flights through early April as pilots work to maintain their "night proficiency."

McBride says due to ongoing runway construction, pilots have to change their flight pattern and land the opposite direction. That means pilots have to fly over residents who don't normally hear the jets.

McBride says the pilots will try to be "good stewards" and be done flying before 10 p.m.
