American troops in Baghdad and in 177 countries around the world will be able to watch Amy Grant and Vince Gill’s Monday night Christmas concert live via the Armed Forces Network.

The show will originate from the SBC Center in San Antonio. An added feature of the event will be a two-way audio/video hookup that will enable selected soldiers and their family members in the audience to see and talk to each other. This will mark the first time that such a face-to-face hookup has been arranged, according to AFN spokesman Larry Sichter.

AFN viewers in Europe will see the concert live on the overseas broadcast of the Pentagon Channel on Tuesday at 2:30 a.m.

Troops in Baghdad’s Green Zone will be viewing the show at 4:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Those in Asia will see it at 10:30 a.m., Japan/Korea Time.

The concert will be repeated on AFN Spectrum for regional prime time audiences.

Viewers in Europe will see repeats Dec. 7 at 11:00 a.m. and 5 p.m. Central Europe Time, while viewers in Japan and Korea will see the AFN Spectrum rebroadcasts at 7 p.m. Tuesday and 2 a.m. Wednesday.
