After dropping as much as 23 cents a gallon last month, unleaded and diesel gasoline prices throughout Europe will see little change in December, according to figures released Friday by the Army and Air Force Exchange Service.

On average, diesel prices will go up about 2 cents a gallon and unleaded will rise anywhere from one-tenth of a cent to 2 cents in the various grades and locations within the continent, the AAFES news release stated.

For example, normal unleaded fuel prices rose to 2.388 cents a gallon from 2.38 cents a gallon in Germany. Diesel prices climbed to 2.698 cents from 2.679 a gallon in November.

The U.S. Department of Energy stated the U.S. average as 3.8 cents higher per gallon than last year for regular unleaded fuel. Pump prices have been steadily increasing due to the much-traveled Thanksgiving holiday, and demand is expected to continue rising, the release said.
